Professor of Architecture, Queen’s University, Belfast
Gary A. Boyd is Professor of Architecture at Queen’s University, Belfast. His research interests include the architecture of institutions and infrastructure. In December 2017, he was awarded a Leverhulme Major Research Fellowship for his proposal ‘Architecture and the Face of Coal: Mining and Modern Britain 1946-1993’. He was also project leader for a Getty Foundation Keeping it Modern grant (2018-21). From 2016-2019 he was Head of Architecture at Queen’s University, Belfast. In 2013, he was appointed joint-curator/commissioner/designer of the Irish Pavilion, for the 14th Architecture Biennale, La Biennale di Venezia 2014.
