Máire is Head of The Department of Architecture at South East Technological University (SETU). A graduate of UCD from 1985 she spent a decade working with Pritzker winning architect Renzo Piano in his Paris office. In 2003 she led the development of the first professionally accredited degree in architecture outside of Dublin at WIT (now SETU) and set up The Department of Architecture in Waterford City Centre in the old Granary building. Máire is a director with award winning architects dhbArchitects ltd. The firm has been short listed at the 2010 & 2011 World Festival of Architecture and at the RIAI annual awards as well as being previous winners at the Building and Architect of the year awards & Irish Construction Industry Awards. She is currently working on a number of town regeneration projects in Dublin, Waterford, Leitrim, Monaghan & Cavan.
