Michael is a Principal and Head of the Culture and Leisure sector at BDP reaching across the nineteen studios. With 25 years’ experience and with around 30 design awards Michael heads up BDP Dublin Architects' team who focus on low carbon and sustainable placemaking across multiple sectors adding value for public and private sector clients and communities alike.

His extensive experience centres on the users of spaces and he has designed several high-profile mixed-use developments and award-winning leisure/hospitality schemes across Ireland and the UK.

As Architect Principal and Head of Culture and Leisure across the 19 studios at BDP he has won over 30 design awards including several RIBA awards, for office and leisure projects. His most recent hotel completion, Wren Urban Nest, won numerous prestigious industry awards including the 2022, BAYA “Sustainability Award for a Single Building or Development”
