Belfast-based construction and fit-out specialist Gilbert-Ash has inaugurated its new headquarters on Dawson Street in Dublin, reinforcing its commitment to expanding operations in Ireland. The move comes shortly after the company completed the 245-bedroom citizenM Hotel on Bride Street, marking the international hospitality brand’s first entry into the Irish market.
The firm, which reported a turnover of £268 million and a pre-tax profit of nearly £7 million in 2024, is also advancing two major Premier Inn projects in Dublin. These include a 215-bedroom hotel at Twilfit House on Jervis Street and a 229-bedroom development as part of the Clerys department store redevelopment. Together, these projects reflect Gilbert-Ash’s strategic focus on hospitality, residential, and workspace sectors, highlighting its ambition to deliver high-quality urban developments across Ireland.
Gilbert-Ash has a strong legacy on the island of Ireland, completing landmark projects such as the Giant’s Causeway Visitors Centre and the Lyric Theatre in Belfast, both shortlisted for the Stirling Prize. The new Dublin headquarters is intended as a central hub to manage Irish operations and foster closer collaboration with local clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
Managing Director Ray Hutchinson said the new office underscores the company’s commitment to the Irish market and provides a solid foundation for future growth. He emphasised that Gilbert-Ash feels at home working in Ireland and aims to continue building a strong pipeline of projects, leveraging its expertise to deliver complex construction and fit-out work efficiently and sustainably.
