Cavan-headquartered global building materials company Kingspan has announced the acquisition of Duggan Profiles & Steel Service Centre Limited, a Co. Kilkenny-based manufacturer of steel building components, following clearance from the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC).

RTÉ reported that the transaction was notified to the CCPC on 15 January 2026, with the regulator confirming on Monday that the merger would not substantially lessen competition in any market for goods or services in the State.

Duggan Profiles was established in 1976 and operates from production sites in Co. Kilkenny, manufacturing single skin construction sheets, purlins and rails, profiled steel sheeting, flashings, and gutters for the agricultural and industrial construction sectors. The business is a well-established domestic supplier of structural and envelope steel components, with a customer base spanning agricultural buildings, industrial sheds, and commercial construction across Ireland.

Kingspan said the acquisition complements its single-skin construction sheeting proposition in Ireland, adding domestic steel manufacturing capability to its existing product portfolio and enabling greater vertical integration across its Irish construction materials offer.

Kingspan is headquartered in Kingscourt, Co. Cavan, and is one of the world's leading producers of insulated building envelope solutions, including insulated panels, insulation boards, and data centre infrastructure products. The group employs over 29,000 people across more than 270 production sites in over 80 countries, with operations spanning Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

The acquisition follows a long-standing pattern of strategic bolt-on acquisitions by Kingspan to expand its product range and geographic reach. In recent years the group has acquired businesses across insulation, facades, water and energy management, and modular construction, with each deal typically adding either a complementary product line, a new geography, or a manufacturing capability that strengthens its integrated building envelope offer.
