Little Black Box Collective was awarded Building of the Year – Office (Small) at the 2025 Building & Architect of the Year Awards early last year for its thoughtfully refurbished Dublin 8 Workspace.

The project transformed a previously austere office into a warm, inviting, and functional environment for a creative event safety company. The design prioritised sustainability through the reuse of existing furniture, complemented by natural, tactile materials and eco-conscious products, creating a ‘home from home’ for staff while maximising impact within a modest budget.

Judges praised the project for its resourceful and innovative approach. “This entrant impressed our panel with its clever integration of sustainability, thoughtful material choices, and playful interior design that captures the client’s character. The transformation demonstrates how careful planning and creativity can deliver significant impact, even on a small scale, making this a standout example of office refurbishment,” the judges said.

The recognition reflects the rising standards within the Building & Architect of the Year Awards, highlighting how careful planning, sustainability, and innovative design are reshaping office and commercial spaces across Ireland.
