Kildare County Council has granted planning permission for a €712,000 office building project in Naas West, Co Kildare, following an appeal lodged with An Bord Pleanála in July 2025. The development will be delivered by Kilwex Civil at Pacelli House, Pacelli Road, W91 RKT3, and represents a significant investment in modernising office space in the town.
The project involves the demolition of an existing two-storey dormer-style commercial building of approximately 313 sq.m., which currently accommodates 156 sq.m. of retail space on the ground floor and 156 sq.m. of office space on the first floor. This structure will be replaced with a new two-storey office extension of around 328 sq.m., seamlessly integrated with the existing two-storey office building on site. The development also includes upgraded vehicle parking, a covered cycle shelter, site drainage, and other associated siteworks.
Design enhancements are a key feature of the scheme. The front east elevation and part of the north side will be re-clad to match the new extension, providing a cohesive and contemporary appearance. Sustainability measures are embedded in the design, with PV solar panels and rooflights incorporated on the flat roof to reduce energy use and improve natural lighting throughout the building.
John P Delaney Architects has been appointed as project architect, tasked with delivering a modern, functional, and environmentally conscious office space that aligns with current workplace standards. The project is expected to strengthen the commercial infrastructure in Naas, offering high-quality workspace for local businesses and contributing to the town’s ongoing economic development.
