Leading architectural bodies from the UK and Ireland have launched the Belfast Group, a cross-jurisdictional alliance to deliver standardised fire and life safety design guidance. Formed in response to the Grenfell Tower Inquiry Phase 2 report, the group brings together the RIAI, RIAS, RIBA, RSUA, and RSAW to ensure architects across all five jurisdictions meet consistent, high-level safety competencies. The initiative also aims to influence government policy, ensure access to up-to-date regulations, and improve procurement practices to embed life safety into every project.
