Derrylin-based Ernco Group has secured a €3.2 million contract with local authorities in the Republic of Ireland to supply and replace speed limit signage, highlighting the company’s growing competitiveness in government tenders and expanding its export footprint.

The contract, shared with three other suppliers, is expected to create six new jobs in Fermanagh, supported by Invest Northern Ireland, and will contribute approximately £217,000 annually in salaries to the local economy.

Ernco specialises in the manufacture of permanent and temporary road signage, traffic management products, and street furniture, while also offering consultancy services covering ISO compliance, health and safety, and temporary traffic management design.

Recent investments in advanced machinery, funded with support from Invest NI, have doubled the company’s production capacity and significantly reduced non-reusable waste, improving operational efficiency and enabling Ernco to pursue larger-scale, high-value tenders.

Seamus Owens, Director of Ernco, highlighted the impact of sustained support from Invest NI in delivering these outcomes, particularly through workforce upskilling and the expansion of consultancy services.

The new positions will include management, technical, and sales roles, with an Associate Director already leading Ernco’s growing ISO consultancy and cloud-based compliance offerings for the construction sector.

Ethna McNamee, Head of Regional Business at Invest NI, praised Ernco as a prime example of a company achieving sustainable growth while expanding internationally.
