Open to manufacturers and suppliers, this award recognises the outstanding building or architectural product introduced to the market on the island of Ireland in the past 12 months. Judges will be looking for products that give architects new possibilities in design, performance or sustainability, and that clearly outperform similar products on the market. Entry is by a five A4 page submission; the judges will be looking for clear information backed up by facts, with particular attention to the criteria listed below:

  • Product Outline: Describe the product, what it has achieved to date, and its potential if adopted more widely across the building sector.
  • Objectives: What were the objectives behind introducing this product? How were they met, and what market are you targeting?
  • Design & Specification Value: How does the product support architects? Consider design freedom, aesthetics, ease of specification, technical data, BIM objects and detailing support.
  • Performance & Sustainability: Outline the benefits over comparable products, such as thermal or acoustic performance, embodied carbon, EPDs, durability, cost or time savings, and compliance with Irish/UK building regulations.
  • Project Application: Show the product in use on at least one completed or live project in the ROI or NI.
  • Architect’s Endorsement: Include a statement from a specifying architect on why they chose the product and how it performed.
